Course Development
It all started over a year ago. We saw the need for students to have a tool to help them succeed on this important exam. We wanted to create something for learners of all styles including auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners so that everyone could benefit from the course.
We began with the PA-CAT blueprint. We identified specific content objectives crucial to understanding the important science concepts, and those needed for PA school. We then recruited over 20 experts to help in content creation and vetted the content through peer review and beta testing. For the audio/visual learners, we created over 200 video lectures with background audio covering every topic.
For our kinesthetic learners, we created over 2,000 practice questions, to exact PA-CAT specifications, with full answer explanations to maximize your time spent studying. Each question was mapped to it’s content area and specific objective to ensure full coverage of every testable topic. Active learning through our question bank allows students to create their own practice exam, or study in tutor mode (where the answer is revealed with full explanation after each question). New questions are added to the question bank regularly and we monitor student responses and remove questions that do not meet reliability and validity metrics.
We then created course notes. These are concise transcript style notes for each lecture, for those who prefer to follow along and take written notes on each topic.
